About
The Full Story
My journey into this world began five years ago with horses. As I became more involved in the English riding community, I quickly noticed a gap: there were very few local options for quality English tack repair and restoration. What started as a practical need soon turned into a passion. I began learning leathercraft so I could care for my own tack properly, and over time that curiosity grew into a dedicated craft and business.
Today, I specialize in English leather tack repair and restoration, with a focus on thoughtful workmanship, durability, and respect for the horse. I also create custom leather pieces for both horse and rider, from functional repairs to fully custom projects. In addition, I occasionally offer used English tack and saddles for sale, carefully selected and restored when needed.
I am largely self-taught in leathercraft, learning through hands-on experience, study, and problem-solving. What started in my early 20s as learning how to made traditional, Ojibwe puckertoe moccasins has now transformed into so much more! Along the way, I have also been fortunate to learn from local equestrian professionals who shared their knowledge and practical insights. My work is deeply influenced by my Ojibwe roots, drawing on traditional teachings and a deep respect for leather as a living material with purpose, responsibility, and story.
In my personal life, I run a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and care of Ojibwe ponies, and I spend my riding time dabbling in dressage as well as being the dedicated nose scratcher and cookie giver. I also hold a PhD in Social Welfare, a background that shapes how I approach my work, my community, and my relationships with clients. Care, ethics, and responsibility are values I carry from my academic and nonprofit work into every piece that comes across my bench.
Whether I am restoring a well-loved bridle or crafting something entirely new, my goal is always the same: to provide honest, skilled work that supports the partnership between horse and rider.
